FOUNDATIONS
ages 3-6 (Earth)

Play isn’t a reward for learning - it IS the learning.

This mixed-age group is as tight-knit as siblings - a true extended family. A play-based, hands on approach to learning is developmentally appropriate to spark interests and fully engage this curious age group. We blend a variety of philosophies to make sure that we provide unique individualized care to every child.

THEIR SPACE

A home away from home

School should be safe, cozy, and FUN!

  • a living room to hang out, a kitchenette to help (even the pickiest eaters) feel right at home, and bathrooms they can use any time!

  • their own private space to make their safe haven - a special stuffy, blanket, or family pics help them feel cozy

  • purposefully themed and staged rooms (sensory, building, art, and music just to name a few!) for them to explore and enjoy

School should be an extension of home

THEIR LEARNING

Learn through living

Children learn by doing and learn through play.

  • unstructured play with large chunks of time to encourage deep learning

  • opportunities throughout every minute of every day to learn when it is most meaningful to them - in that very moment

  • multi-sensory programs (just a few: Lively Letters, Handwriting Without Tears, and Math-U-See) to build foundational conceptual skills and developing a positive relationship with learning

  • character development and social emotional skills practiced constantly with respectful conflict resolution and modeling developmentally appropriate behaviors

THEIR RHYTHM

Always making time for what’s truly important

Schedules are known to change depending on what the kids need on that particular day and in that particular moment. We always have the flexibility to go outside, play in the sensory room, or make a little music if we feel the need. So, while we don’t rely solely on the clock, this schedule gives you a peek at a typical ‘day in our life:’

  • 9am - arrive and play outside

  • 9:30 - snack and stories

  • 10am - deep work/play cycle

  • 11:30am - lunch & stories

  • 12:30pm - outdoors

  • 1:30pm - snack and stories

  • 2:00 - deep work/play cycle

  • 3pm - dismissal

THEIR PEOPLE

Who your child spends their time with is SUPER important!

THE TEACHERS:

  • take their job very seriously AND have fun while doing it!

  • are highly trained and up to date with child development, neuroscience, and pedagogy

  • are mindful observers, playful creators, and smart cookies (and let’s be honest, they also wipe butts and boogies like champs)

THEIR PEERS:

  • LOVE school!

  • are kind, curious, creative (and probably pretty spirited!)

  • will become like extended family

Can you imagine your child thriving in this environment?
