MIDDLE SCHOOL
ages 11-14 (air)

Adolescence is worth far more than awkwardly (or barely) surviving every day. It can actually be a beautiful time of growth and development - they just need the space to be seen, heard, and understood.

THEIR SPACE

Individual space and group spaces - their choice

Individual space:

  • Each student has their own private space within a small shared room

  • They can be in their own space any time they want or need - a safe haven :)

  • They can decorate it and use it however they want!

Group spaces:

  • Table work areas for collaboration or company

  • Cubicle work areas for a (more traditional) private work option

  • Couches, beanbags, and blankets for (usually the most used) coziness

THEIR LEARNING

Repairing relationships with learning (and life)

Taking time to get to know every student individually allows us to explore:

  • how they learn best

  • where there are gaps in previous skills

  • what they enjoy (or don’t)

Then we create their learning map together which includes all required subjects as well as passion projects, character development, and life skills.

If your child’s view of learning (and life) has been jaded by unfortunate experiences, we’re known for repairing that relationship. We prioritize finding that spark in them again.

Students learning is aligned with Common Core and Massachusetts Frameworks. It may look and feel very different, and they may not even feel like it’s learning, but they are mastering skills at their appropriate level in each subject area.

THEIR SCHEDULE

Always make time for what’s really important

Their schedule varies depending on what specific projects they’re in the middle of, but this is a general peek into their routine:

  • 9am - arrival, setup & chat

  • 9:30 - Work: Math & ELA

  • 11:30 - lunch & outside

  • 1:00 - Work: Science / Social Studies

  • 2:00 - Passion Project

  • 3pm - dismissal

THEIR PEOPLE

Because who they look up to at this stage influences their inner dialogue

Whether it’s their teachers, their peers, or the community they’re interacting with, the people your child is around is incredibly important

We take this really seriously and we’re here to support them (and you) through this interesting developmental stage.

Prioritizing connection, relationships, and face to face interaction is one of the things that makes us stand (far) apart from other schools.

Does this all sound too good to be true?

It’s not! We promise.

Your child will actually WANT to go to school.

We offer year-round enrollment so it’s never the ‘wrong time’ to explore a better school for your kids.

Check out the admissions page if you’re super interested - we’ve been known to start kids within a matter of days if they need it.
