At Elements Academy, school feels different - on purpose

Because we believe something pretty simple:

Childhood is not preparation for real life. Childhood is real life. 

That belief shapes everything we do. 

• Relationships are at the heart of everything. Children build strong relationships with their teachers, their peers, and themselves – more like extended family than classmates.

• Curiosity matters more than getting through curriculum. We care more about raising lifelong learners than covering everything on somebody else’s list..  

• Children deserve meaningful choice over what and how they learn – and how they spend their time. Sometimes, observing is learning. 

• Creativity, the arts, outings, deep dives, and spontaneous conversations are not extras. They are essential and we will always make time for them.. 

• Learning doesn’t happen because the lesson plan says so. It doesn’t happen at the same pace, in the same order, or in the same way for every child. And it certainly doesn’t stop when the school day ends. 

• Identity matters. We want to know what makes each child uniquely them — their strengths, motivations, stressors, personality, interests, quirks, and ways of moving through the world. 

• Mental health is part of our daily life. Emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and community life are woven into everyday life here – we’re raising beings, not bots.
