Elements Academy exists to nurture curious, creative, and connected children and families through personalized education and family wellness support.

Elements Academy is a nonprofit PreK–12 Microschool and Family Wellness Community for curious, creative children and families.

Our Microschool provides customized learning for every student in a home-away-from-home environment — embracing individuality, uncovering strengths and interests, and nurturing meaningful relationships — because who we are matters more than what we know.

Our Family Wellness Community provides support, education, and opportunities for families who want to feel more connected — to themselves, their children, each other, and the world — because the relationships we build at home shapes everything that follows.

Through curiosity, creativity, and connection, we help each person reach their full potential.

We envision a world where learning and life are not separate.

A world where children are free to grow into who they truly are, where families feel deeply supported, and where education nurtures curiosity, creativity, connection, and well-being.

A world where every child finds the place they belong — a community that sees them, supports them, and helps them discover their own unique path.

Because when children feel safe, known, and connected, they are free to become who they were always meant to be.

our Core Values

• Safety: Physical, mental, and emotional health and wellness are equally important. A child (and adult) can only learn, grow, and thrive when they feel safe.

• Individuality: Every child is unique. We honor each person’s interests, pace, strengths, and needs through customized learning and authentic connection.

Elements Academy is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who help steward the organization’s mission, sustainability, and long-term vision.

What we’re building

Elements Academy is building more than a school.

Why Join the Board?

Serving on the board is an opportunity to help shape a new model of education — one that prioritizes curiosity, connection, and well-being.

Board members help guide the long-term direction of Elements Academy and ensure that the organization remains aligned with its mission and values.

We are especially interested in board members who care deeply about:

• innovative education

• child development and family well-being

• community building

• nonprofit leadership

• financial sustainability and responsible governance

board Roles and Responsibilities:

Board members serve as stewards of the mission and the organization’s long-term health.

Responsibilities include:

• Attending board meetings and participating in key decisions
• Supporting strategic planning and long-term vision
• Reviewing financial health and organizational sustainability
• Providing guidance and expertise in relevant areas
• Serving as ambassadors for the organization in the community
• Supporting fundraising efforts when appropriate

Time Commitment

Board members typically:

• Attend quarterly board meetings (4 per year)

• Participate in occasional committee work or planning discussions

• Review materials in advance of meetings

• Serve a 2-year term (renewable)

Estimated commitment: 3–5 hours per month
